Beautiful acoustic 3 song Tiny Desk Session. Adventures In Your Own Backyard, Words In The Fire and Into Giants.
Brilliant new Killian Martin video with Adventures. Could as well have been the video clip for the song.

Belgian interview reveals: more orchestra shows this winter!
Belgian website DaMusic have published the interview they had with Patrick last month in anticipation of the next album. I translated the most interesting parts for you. Definitely the most interesting: Patrick reveals that the band will be playing more gigs with a full blown orchestra this winter in different countries, and he mentions The Netherlands explicitly.
The full interview can be read here in Dutch.
Translation:
- Patrick says they might have rushed a bit after Close to Paradise to finish Wooden Arms in time. “For Wooden Arms, we had enough ideas, but didn’t take enough time. It should have taken at least two months longer to finish the album.”
- He is happy about the next record. “Now we took the time to work out every detail exactly as I wanted. I wasn’t perfectly happy with Wooden Arms because I think that record could have been a little bit better.”
- Where in Wooden Arms the theme was percussion, this album doesn’t really have one. “I just wanted to make a record that gave me goosebumps.”
- The band didn’t want the next album to be covered in arrangements.
- Into Giants started on bass, after which everyone added their pieces. Morning Sheets was the little baby of Robbie and Mishka. Patrick only wrote the lyrics. Lighthouse was made almost exclusively by Patrick himself.
- The band are thinking about bringing trumpet players too the shows, but aren’t sure about that yet.
- They will be bringing a string quartet for the bigger halls.
- THE BAND WILL PLAY MORE ORCHESTRA GIGS THIS WINTER!
- Into Giants is about how every problem is really small compared to the love you and your significant other have. Everything you experience, is nothing compared to that love.
- The band started with this album in the spring, they had 9 songs at that moment.
- There are some left overs that didn’t make the album but might appear later on.

Adventures now available to pre-order on iTunes UK with extra song!
Interesting news. As of today, Adventures In Your Own Backyard, Patrick Watsons upcoming album is available to pre-order in the UK iTunes Store.
The album costs 7,99 GBP and features not 12, but 13 songs! There’s an extra one that’s called “The Things We Do”. We don’t know yet what that’s supposed to mean, either it’s a bonus track or just someone entered “The Things You Do” in a wrong way.
The pre order also includes a digital booklet and can be preordered here.

Patrick plays two brand new songs in London!
